Fifty-Two

This world has a beginning,

which we call the mother of all things.

When you know the mother, you know

the child.

Once you know the child,

you abide in the mother;

fear gone, free of danger.

If you close the doors and

shut the mouth,

you struggle less.

If you tax the senses and stay

busy all of the time,

nothing can help you.

Seeing the small is called clarity.

Relying on gentleness is called strength.

Using your inner light,

return to insight.

Cling not to the body's pain.

In this way one learns endurance.
